Shepherd’s Heart is an Intensive Retreat Ministry for married couples in Christian leadership who need a place of sanctuary, healing and restoration. SHM is a “financially sponsored ministry” helping ministry couples move through their deep distress. We provide Biblical spiritual, emotional, practical teaching solutions in a confidential, safe environment. Our private retreat Sanctuaries are a place where a couple is cared for and loved during a “Five Day Intensive” of specialized pastoral care.

OUR INTENSIVE TEAM

An SHM Intensive team consists of a Pastoral Care couple and a Host couple. The team expresses the heartbeat of God’s love and grace to every guest couple. The Pastoral Care Specialists meet with our leadership guest couple in private sessions ministering to the spiritual and relational issues stressing the marriage. The Host couple lovingly cares for our guests’ comfort needs including meals. There are other essential team members who are active ‘off-site’ that make an Intensive possible (click menu “SHM Friends”).

FOLLOW UP SUPPORT

Couples may choose to extend their Intensive experience. We offer Zoom, FaceTime or Skype follow-up calls with our alumni to pray, encourage, advise and support them. Usually the agreement is up to one year at their request. We encourage couples to connect with a local trusted mentor for accountability.

REFERRALS

Couples are referred by Focus on the Family CDA / USA; SHM Intensive alumni, other Christian agencies, denominational leaders, supporting churches, SHM volunteers/prayer partners, financial supporters, and referral ambassadors who promote the ministry.

INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY

People travel internationally to attend a Shepherd’s Heart marriage Intensive. Canadian Sanctuaries welcome guests from many places in the world including Canada, USA, Great Britain, Africa and Asia. Shepherd’s Heart Ministry head office is in Parker, Colorado, USA.

Pastoral Care Specialists

We are Pastoral Care Specialists, trained and experienced in the SHM Marriage Intensive model developed by the founders of Shepherd’s Heart Ministry – Larry and Lorrie Russell. Our pastoral care Intensives are uniquely designed for couples in Christian leadership. We provide biblically grounded and Christ-centered solutions.

The private Intensive sessions are conducted in a safe and comfortable environment providing specialized care with our trained pastoral couple – Carsten and Linda Pellmann – Shepherd’s Heart is committed to pastors, missionaries and leadership couples serving in para-church ministry.

ONTARIO – SILVER EAGLE: Is in the Haliburton tourist region near Toronto, Ontario. The lakefront Upper and Lower Lodges are beautiful spaces where you will be lodging in a fully equipped private suite.

SASKATCHEWAN – NORTHERN GREENS: Is in the rural north east tourist and agricultural region of Saskatchewan a few hours from Saskatoon. It is situated at one of the provinces premier golf courses, fishing and hunting regions. The resort is a modern hunting lodge decor; your suite is comfortable and quiet.
